An oral with a real medical history and a gentle reputation - but real liver, lipid, and suppression concerns. What to monitor.
At a glance
Oxandrolone, sold as Anavar, is an oral anabolic steroid with a genuine medical history - it has been used for weight regain after trauma, burns, and certain wasting conditions, and is one of the few orals studied in women and children. It has a reputation for being mild, with lean strength gains and relatively low androgenic side effects. It is still an oral AAS with liver, lipid, and suppression concerns.
This is an educational tracking guide. Oxandrolone is prescription-only and controlled in many places.
Oral AAS: liver and lipid strain (HDL suppression is significant), HPTA suppression, and androgenic effects in predisposed users. FDA labelling notes serious androgenic effects and pituitary and testicular suppression. Prescription-only; monitor liver and lipids under a physician.
